ABC Book

I've been working on this project since the beginning of 2012. It was first for my Graphic Design II class and just making 6 spreads. While taking Typography this fall, we were assigned to make an book using the whole alphabet. I asked Ingrid if I could finish my paper doll book.  We had to include 10 cut outs of each letter, so we were aware of typography.  You can see the full spreads on my Behance account here http://www.behance.net/emmapbrooks. I just wanted to share the illustrations!

Character Studies

these are the final 9 goddesses that I chose for my show! I decided I needed a break from making paper dolls and just work out problems before I make the dolls. Then I just put them in a poster. I don't know if I'll be keeping that format.

Swans

book making is probably one of my favorite things to do, so to start off the school year, I made an accordion book fold (I'll be posting pictures of the book folded out and the process later).  I've been trying to simplify my color choices to get a better flow, and I think I am getting it down!
This semester is going to be crazy, 4 studios and I'll cracking down on my BFA thesis so there will be a definite documentation and posting!

the orgins of my idea

by the end of fall semester I started creating large paper dolls for my BFA show, I decided to go for a Goddess feel in the natural world,  creating an understanding of spiritually as a woman, and linking women with animals and techincally looking at the layout and what I can do to the backgrounds.  I was also experiementing on how to make my pieces interactive so people can dress the doll, I found that vinyl cling works with out any stickiness and I mount the doll on foamcore
-- I am still working on this idea for this semester for my show
